16-Year-Old Pooja Reddy Takes Own Life at Hyderabad Hostel

A 16-year-old student named Pooja Reddy died by suicide at a hostel in Hyderabad on Tuesday night, May 13. She was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her room at Sri Chaitanya Saraswathi Hostel in Madhapur.

Pooja had recently completed her first-year intermediate examinations and had registered for betterment exams starting the following day. Police believe she was experiencing significant mental stress related to her upcoming tests.

The incident was discovered around 8:30 pm when other students noticed the situation and alerted the hostel warden. The warden immediately contacted the police, who arrived at the scene and transported her body to Osmania Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Her father lodged a formal complaint the following morning, leading police to register a case. The body will be released to her family once the post-mortem process is completed.
