Dalit Woman Alleges Caste-Based Abuse and Assault by Village Head in UP; Court Orders FIR

A Dalit woman in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj district has accused a village head representative of physically assaulting her and using caste-based slurs after she demanded repayment of ₹30,000. She alleged the accused also threatened to kill her and fled the scene. With police initially unresponsive, the Special SC/ST Act Court ordered Bhitauli police to register an FIR against the accused.
