Udhayanidhi Stalin says “not in agreement with temple construction after demolishing mosque” amidst BJP’s Big Ram temple Event.

Chennai: DMK leader and Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin stated on Thursday that his party does not support a temple that was built after a mosque was demolished in reference to Ayodhya’s Ram Temple.

Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin, told reporters in Chennai that his grandpa, renowned politician MK Karunanidhi, had stated that the DMK was not opposed to any specific religion or faith.

“The construction of a temple there is not problematic for us. The head of the DMK Youth Wing stated, “We are not in agreement with the construction of a temple after demolishing a mosque,” alluding to the 1992 destruction of the Babri Masjid, according to PTI.

The leader, whose comments about Sanatan Dharma caused a major controversy last time, stated that politics and religion shouldn’t be combined.

“Our Treasurer (T R Baalu) has already stated that spiritualism and politics should not be mixed,” Udhayanidhi continued.

On January 22, Ayodhya will host the Ram Temple’s consecration ceremony. Hundreds of celebrities, including actors, politicians, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have been invited to the event.

The invitation to the event was declined by the Congress and numerous other opposition parties, such as the TMC and CPI(M), who claimed that the BJP was attempting to gain political advantage from the religious occasion.

The Supreme Court mandated in 2019 that the temple be built on the disputed location, over thirty years after the Babri destruction. It also requested that a large mosque be built on a separate plot of land from the government.

Udhayanidhi Stalin stirred some controversy in September of last year when he said that Sanatana dharma should be eliminated since it was opposed to the concept of social justice.

“There are some things that should only be abolished; they cannot be opposed. We are powerless against malaria, dengue, mosquitoes, or corona. Udhayanidhi had declared, “We have to eradicate this, just as we have to eradicate Sanatana.”

Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat jodo Nyay Yatra reaches Assam. Rahul Attacks Himanta led Bjp’s state government stating “Most Corrupt in India”

Started on Thursday morning, the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra march’s Assam leg will last till January 25. It will pass through 17 districts and 833 km.

The BJP government in Assam, led by Himanta Biswa Sarma, was labelled as the “most corrupt” in India on Thursday by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Gandhi attacked the ruling BJP and its ideologue Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for “spreading hatred and looting public money” shortly after the Congress’s “Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra” entered Assam.

“Perhaps, the most corrupt government in India is in Assam,” Gandhi claimed, addressing party workers at Halowating in the Sivasagar district. “Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra” is when we shall bring up the concerns pertaining to Assam.

Gandhi refuted the BJP’s claim that the Congress will not gain from such marches, stating that the “political narrative” of the nation has been altered by the “Bharat Jodo Yatra” last year.

“Hatred is being propagated by the BJP and RSS, inciting conflict between different communities. Their primary task is to plunder the nation and take advantage of its resources,” he declared.

When Gandhi arrived at Mariani town at midday, he noticed hundreds of rural women waiting in line to pick up forms for a recently announced plan at a government-run centre in the Nakachari district. All of the women broke from their ranks and went to the road to meet the Congress MP when they saw Gandhi’s convoy passing by.

Afterwards, the video was posted on social media site X by Jairam Ramesh, the Congress general secretary responsible for communications, who is travelling with Gandhi during the yatra.

On Day 5 of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, women in Mariani who were attending an event hosted by the Chief Minister of Assam spontaneously and joyfully met @RahulGandhi. The Assamese New Year has begun. Ramesh continued.

The Congress MP is leading the 6,713-kilometer march, which started on January 14 in Manipur and will end in Mumbai on March 20. The yatra’s Assam leg will last till January 25.

It is planned for the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ to traverse 110 districts across 15 states.

The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi travels through parts of Manipur plagued by violence.

Congressman K. C. Venugopal said that although the situation is precarious, both communities view Rahul Gandhi as a leader who can bring them together.

As Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra went through Imphal West and into Kuki-dominated Kangpokpi, the apparent normalcy in Imphal city gradually gave way to a sense of mistrust and a deep split.

The Meitei community and the Kuki tribes erupted in ethnic conflict on May 3, of last year. Mr. Gandhi’s modified Volvo bus passed through some of these places on Monday, January 15, 2024, the second day of the 67-day Manipur to Mumbai yatra.

The presence of security guards outside of certain towns, a completely destroyed home with a “Meitei Go” sign on it, and other signs stating “Welcome to Kuki land” were all clear indicators of a severe socioeconomic difference.

As eager throngs crowded the narrow roads on their way from Imphal to Kohima, Manipur Congress head Keisham Meghachandra Singh and former chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh, both of whom are from the Meitei community, were absent from Mr. Gandhi’s entourage.

A group of young boys in Karong were chanting “Rahul Gandhi zindabad” and “We want separate administration” back and forth while holding the Indian tricolour in their hands.

“I am aware of what you have experienced. You have lost belongings and loved members. Gandhi stated in a roadside public speech, “I want you to know that we are fully with you and want to bring peace to Manipur.”

At many locations, such as Kalapahar Bazar in the Kangpokpi region or Keithelmanbi Military Colony, signs prohibiting strangers after 5 p.m.

“Both groups express faith in Rahul.”

“We know that the situation is still fragile but Rahul ji has come forward with his message of peace and harmony. Meitei and Kuki alike have come out to show their faith in him, according to people from both communities, Congress general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal told Tind Posting.

“They see Rahul ji as a leader who can unify the communities,” Mr. Venugopal, one of the key organisers of the yatra, remarked.

Senior leader Jairam Ramesh discussed how, during the previous two days, Mr. Gandhi had met with a number of civil society organisations.

Mr. Ramesh informed reporters, “The civil society organisations told Rahul ji that the Congress and he [Prime Minister Narendra Modi] should come to Manipur before the 2024 Lok Sabha election.”

According to Mr. Ramesh, these organisations were referred to as Manipuri organisations during their previous visits to the State, but they are now known as community organisations. That’s the distinction between. They’re all for peace, he continued.

However, the path to peace in Manipur was as brittle as the partially collapsed road that was being built to Kohima.

It’s National Highway 29 here. Take a look at its condition. Prime Minister Modi ji and [Union Minister for Road Transport Highways] Nitin Gadkari make great boasts regarding motorways and super motorways. However, as the yatra began its third day of travel on Tuesday, Mr. Ramesh said, “There is no road at all here, just pebbles and potholes.”
